This book takes teenagers in prep school to a whole new level. The main character, Jill, is a member of a secret society (re: basically cult) and has trauma in her past. Her best friend was killed by her boyfriend. Luckily, he confessed, mystery solved.
But not really. Jill starts getting messages that things are not what they seem. So she starts digging, determined to find out the truth.
It was a pretty typical high school type of cast. It was a pretty quick read and entertaining, for sure. However, I expected more emphasis on the mystery side of the story. It seemed to be equally about the secret society itself. I wish there was less focus there. Instead, putting more focus of the plot itself on the murder and the mystery. I think it would have made the plot less predictable and push it up into a four star rating for me personally. But still fun!
