This was marketed as a whodunit murder mystery, but was mostly a high school drama with a tiny bit of mystery. It was hard to keep track of all the characters and was semi-boring, not great.

This book felt like two stories that didn’t really fit together: murder mystery and high school drama. This was supposed to be about finding out who actually killed someone, but the book barely focused on that. It could’ve been better with a stronger focus on the mystery over a lame teenage high school drama.

There were way too many characters to keep straight. And while the ending was good, and friendships were rekindled, one aspect of the ending was completely unbelievable.

This was the first book that I had read by Jessica Goodman and I thought that it was pretty good for a YA book, and that I did enjoy it, but her second book, They'll Never Catch Us, did a lot better in my mind.
