This book seemed too similar to other young adult books I have read recently. Everyone tries to write a darker Gossip Girl type book and it just seems like it has become overdone. I have read some books recently with similar plots that I loved the characters, but I could not get into the characters in this book at all.
I did like the way the author gave some back story throughout the book, so you did not know all the details up front. As information came relevant, they would flash back to previous events to fill you in. However, this did make the book jump around a lot and I feel like it was too much to keep track of.
There could have been a lot of potential in this story line, but I feel like it was too dramatic and the characters were very unlikable. I wanted to like it so much and waited forever to finally get a copy to read, and in the end it fell flat for me.
