The story is a mix of rich lifestyle of Gossip Girl and the murder of One Of Us Is Lying. Which is a perfect combination.
There are parties on the weekends for the select few. It's almost like a passing on the torch from the upper classmen to the freshmen. To be accepted you need to go through a hazing of sorts. All goes wrong, when one of them ends up dead. A kid is accused, and found guilty. But as our protagonist gets accepted to this secret club, someone reaches out for help to prove that the killer is still out there. Will she believe it, will she help?
This lifestyle wasn't relatable to me, but I definitely connected with the characters and the need to fit in, especially in High school. The characters were all flawed but well hidden behind their masks. I found them human and recognizable. The mystery wasn't hard to solve, but I needed to know the reasonings and had to keep reading this story to find out why.
