The tagline “Gossip Girl meets One Of Us is Lying” definitely caught my attention. As a huge fan of both of those I was very interested in reading this book. But it’s another YA elite prep school thriller and while I do love that trope, I feel like there has been A TON of these types of stories released lately so I feels a bit overplayed. It’s very well written especially for this being a debut novel. I do like the secret society within the prep school and all the drama and mystery. I also like the whodunnit aspect of this one but I do read a lot of this genre and trope and I guessed the mystery and twists pretty early on but that didn’t deter me from finishing this book. There are some relatable aspects in this book like the pressure to fit in and succeed in high school. Some of the back and forth between past and present storylines is a bit shaky but overall is a fun little read. If you like YA whodunnit thrillers then you should give this one a try.
