They Wish They were Us seems like it just might fit the bill. Players' vs. Heathers'. Listening to Whitney Houston and reading the Great Gatsby. Takes me back. Not that I ever had to try and solve a murder in high school.
This isn't your typical murder mystery or even typical YA. This seems like it could be an Episode of Riverdale. Filled with pop culture references, but with up to date circumstances and use of technology. In just the short excerpt I felt like I was engaged with the characters and what was going on.
