Dark academia is quickly becoming one of my favorite genres. Naïve teenagers with a big secret, boarding or prep school, being friends with a murderer, discovering the ridiculous reason why. It all sucks me in, and this book did just that.

I was very much anticipating this novel and it did not disappoint. I would agree that there are definitely One Of Us Is Lying vibes. There were many twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout the book as to who the killer was and why.

I give this book 4 stars because while I enjoyed it, I found it a bit predictable. Did I figure out the killer before it was revealed? Yeah. Did I debate if that person was really the killer? Yeah. Was I shocked when the killer was finally revealed. No, not really.

Would I read more from this author in the future? Yes! I liked the writing style and I thought the premise of this book was good, even if I figured out whodunnit early on (but I also read a LOT of YA thrillers, so maybe that's partly what happened here.)

Anyway, I recommend this book to those of you who love YA murder mystery/thrillers as much as I do!
