I finished They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman last night and it was a really addictive young adult mystery about murder and the players, a secret elite within an elite prep school. In order to become a player one has to be chosen and survive their freshman year of nonstop hazing and the reward is access to information and power. Except one year, Shaila Arnold didn't survive initiation, and
her boyfriend was the assumed murderer. As Jill's senior year at the top of the food chain unfolds she realizes that maybe the wrong person is locked up for murder and that all her time and energy put into the players was maybe not worth what it took to get there. This book delves into the unfair advantages of the elite and extreme hazing practices. The story had me hooked and intrigued. I did figure out the killer very early on but I was addicted to the story itself. I enjoyed reading the story unfold and I thought Jill was a great character. I reallv enioved the read and I recommend it!
