My initial thought was that this is a typical, cliched private school book read. The cover shows the usual necklaces that most rich students wore with their names, but the last necklace shown broken and splattered with blood might’ve hinted at the fifth person being taken away - Shaila? Even though I read the synopsis, once I dove further into the book I completely forgot that Jill received a text that Graham was innocent. And all of a sudden, a lot of questions flooded through my head: who’s Rachel Callaway? Why is she saying that Graham didn’t kill Shaila? Are there secrets that Jill and her friends are hiding? Does this involve Gold Coast Prep’s society as a ‘player’? I’m extremely curious on what will happen next - mostly for the potential secrets because it seems like those with the most perfect lives always have the most secrets.
