I love thrillers set at prep schools and the opening pages of this one did not disappoint. The world of the Players seems to have shaped each of the characters, whether it has made them more closed off or more ruthless. I can see the group giving Jill a lot of trouble as she tries to figure out who really killed Shaila.
The cover also wonderfully captures how the world these characters are in is not as perfect as it seems, with the gold-plated necklaces and the broken, bloody one at the bottom.
