So here's the thing... My friend just introduced me to this website and in an effort to see if it was even my jam I picked a book that I judged by the cover to be light and stupid and an easy read. So often books about high school end up feeling the same for me. I didn't expect to like it but I just wanted a feel for this whole first impressions process. I was saving my effort for my next first impression read which would be one "worth my time."

First off the cover is perfect for giving you an idea of what this is about but it is definitely not stupid or vapid. This mashup of Breakfast Club, Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars was more involved than I expected and offered much more depth than I signed on for. The writing hooks you from the first pages and the characters come to life so fast that you can't help but keep reading because you want to hang out with them. The story feels like a perfect blend of familiar but entirely new and mysterious.
I didn't expect to like this and I'm slightly disappointed I read it because now that I've started, I hate that I can't finish it right NOW.
