Sprinting to the Finish Line
What I enjoyed about this book immediately is the way the author has created a dichotomy between the two narrators. What’s even more interesting is that the two narrators are sisters.
The differences amongst the sisters are extreme - one being hyper focused on cross country and her “personal records; and the other being being more focused on her love life.
Completion amongst siblings is normal, but the author has created a great tension between the sisters, that you can already feel as a reader within the first few chapters.
Add in a mysterious new girl who may be better at cross country than the sisters, an alcoholic mom, and lots of secrets- and you get the makings of a fantastic book. I can’t wait to see how everything plays out, and I know I’ll be “sprinting” to the end with the amount of suspense this book has.
