A good first impression, I definitely want to find out more about the characters and their back-stories. I can easily see how this will appeal to a wide YA audience, there is a lot packed into the opening chapters; strong central sibling characters with family issues and individual insecurities, the new rival on the team, not to mention boy trouble. However, it does already feel a bit cliched and predictable - I hope I'm proven wrong!
