I like how the cover combines the main aspect of cross country and the murder mystery of the book by showing a bloody shoe with the title incorporated in the laces. Reading the excerpt, I enjoyed the writing style but the flashbacks were a bit abrupt at times. The relationship between the two sisters is very competitive and fueled by jealousy, but at the end of the day they are still there for each other. This is true to many sister relationships and I wonder how the rest of the story goes for them!
