Sibling relationships can be one of the most difficult things to describe and write about. Still, author Goodman manages to write about the two sisters and highlight the complexities of their relationship within the first few pages. With a few hint drops here and there, I can definitely tell this book will build up to expose and reveal many secrets the people here hold. The cover, to say the least, is absolutely clever with the use of a running shoe to highlight its prominence in the story, and blood splatter to note the fatal consequences of merely "getting in the way". I'm excited to continue learning more about the Steckler sisters and uncover what has shaped their relationship to be as complex as it is.
