While reading this I wondered if Ellie was ready to kill Stella to get those scouts to look at her as a college prospect. The town seems like something to run away from. Or maybe the people are something to run from and never look back. The runner's lunchroom table at the high school feels like an island where you can be voted on or off, depending on whose toes you step on.
