The book opens with a strong sense of humor that kept me glued to the words. Subtle hints of sorcery and time travel soon begin to unravel in the prose, and I have to keep turning the pages to find out more. The author sprinkles in little nuggets of wisdom throughout the pages, thoughtful phrases I'd probably write down in a journal.

As things begin to unravel for Tabatha, our main character and sorceress apprentice, the tension amps up. Characters have their own agendas and rivalries that fit well into driving the plot forward at a rapid pace.

The two main characters are young teenagers with building angst. They have to deal with parents and school while also investigating a murder. I can tell this plot is going to be rich with murder mystery questions, teenager angstiness, and a lot of suspects. This book is one being added to my TBR as I type this!
