Don't let the low Goodreads rating put you off
The first time I saw this book, I was intrigued by the cover, so I checked it out and because of the low Goodreads rating, I decided not to read it. I came across it again a little later and decided to give it a chance since it's so short and it was incredible!!! So much better than I expected! Please don't let the average 3.6 Goodreads rating scare you off like it did me.
It was short, fast-paced read filled with witty, entertaining banter (the banter was my favorite part btw) and fun characters. The writing was solid. The twists had my jaw on the floor. The plot was unique and interesting, and the execution was *chef's kiss* perfection. I was engaged from start to finish. Also, THAT COVER?! GORGEOUS! I LOVE IT! It caught my eye immediately.
I haven't read many fantasy murder mysteries, but I think I might have to start because if they're all like this, I'm going to be a very happy reader 🥰
