I thought the book was really decent and has AAPI rep, which I certainly appreciate. Tabatha Zeng is a sorcerer's apprentice and Sorcerer Solomon has predicted his death. He comes from a wealthy background and well known family name, so when is death happened, the police were immediately on it. However, the police are very prejudice against magic users. The police were not the best at investigating, so Tabitha and Callum team up to try and find out who the murderer is. What really drew me to the book is that is is very Ineritance Games and Knives Out blended together in this thrilling YA murder mystery. There were unexpected twists and Solomon's fortune comes into questions has it has been recently changed. As the story progresses and you get to know the other characters better, you can get a good sense of who is the likely culprit. Overall, it was enjoyable and I flew through reading the book.
