This book had my attention as soon as I saw it pitched as being perfect for fans of Knives Out and The Inheritance Games. Our lead character, a teenage sorcerer’s apprentice who must solve her boss’s murder in order to prove her innocence, has some high stakes to fight against, making for a nail-biting read!
