This reminded me a bit of The Inheritance Games books, plus sorcery and fortune-telling along with the murder mystery. Tabatha is the apprentice of the great Sorceror Solomon and must work with his mismatched and dramatic family in order to solve his murder. The thing is, Sorceror Solomon knew he was going to be murdered--he foretold it, to Tabatha. But he didn't tell her that he would incinerate his own will just before his death, which has complicated everything...
