This story has a very cool cover and an intriguing concept. Tabitha is an apprentice to the powerful sorcer Solomon and everything was going fine until Solomon is murdered and Tabitha and Solomon's son Callum are the prime suspects. They don't get along well, but they have to work together to solve this murder. I wasn't not a big fan of this first person narrative. The narrative came across as someone trying too hard to sound like a teenager and really a magical world should have its own slang.
