Although I enjoy a fictional story with a first person protagonist, I wouldn't normally choose to read this book (or blurb.) I don't like the title, the cover art, the magic, or the premise of the story, so I normally wouldn't look twice.
For those who enjoy this kind of story, where teens try to solve a murder, the writing seems smart, but it's just not for me.
