This is the type of book that calls out to me. That cover is stunning and full of foreshadowing. There's a key that's unlocking a skull, perhaps to solve future mysteries/problems. Then candles dripping, possibly a symbol that time is of the essence. There's also a golden skull, maybe symbolizing that someone is dead, but also that money is somehow involved. When I read the description and knew that I absolutely had to read this book!! A sorcerer winds up dead and the apprentice is accused. She must then team up with the sorcerer's son, who may or may not be the good guy, to help clear her name. There's magic, murder, and mystery. What more could you ask for in an amazing book?
