When I heard this book was a magic-infused murder mystery I was immediately like sign me up! Tabatha is an apprentice to a fortune teller until he predicts that he will be murdered in seven months time. The day finally arrives when Tabatha finds Solomon gruesomely murdered in his workshop, and she now realizes it will be more difficult to keep her promise to him than she originally realized. I really like the author’s writing style, I found it very engaging and easy to follow the storyline. I also thought it was cool that the main character is Chinese, sometimes the diversity in the fantasy/murder mystery genre. I can’t wait until I get to read the rest of the book!
