It seems very thriller and fantasy like

I am really vibing this slightly unique book plot. I am intrigued by the storyline and I love a good "prove my innocence" story. I kind of imagine this a little like Sorcery of Thorns, which also intrigued me and one I enjoyed a lot. I also really like the cover. The darkness surrounding the candles on the skull give secret society vibes and also a sense of "time is limited/running out" for a possibly quick-paced novel.
