The premise of this book is really interesting, but I personally don't enjoy it when narration breaks the fourth wall this much. Perhaps that's not quite the right word for here; it's more that the tone feels very conversational and meta, with an upbeat irreverence that didn't work for me. This is totally subjective, but it's not a style of writing I particularly enjoy, so I'll leave this to readers who do. :)
