So unlike most "compulsive murder mysteries" this book has a very realistic (if however unfortunate) plot to pull our main characters into the thick of it. I enjoy main character's determination and self deprecation in equal measure. I was surprised to find the time bouncing of the writing not bothersome, as well.

The line that took this from a 4-4.5* to a 5* for me:
"-but, hell, if two daughters of Asian immigrants can't bond over the shared recognition of rich white dude entitlement, what hope was there for any of us?"
