What initially grabbed my attention was not only the magical aspect of this with Tabatha and the apprenticeship, but also the connect to begin regular high school seniors. When a fantasy world crosses over into the real world, there is so much potential for additional conflicts and complications.

Tabatha and Callum are your perfect pairing to have to work together, and the first three chapters effective begin to establish the characters and the magical aspects of the sorcery. I'm drawn to stories that are full of riddles and puzzles. The creativity of the author shines.

The first person point of view also allows Tabatha to take root in the readers brain. I'm already invested in her. I'm excited to see where this one goes with the blend of genres and character development.
