Having enjoyed Graceling when it first released, I was curious about Cashore's newest offering that appears to be more contemporary and less fantasy. I'm not sure if I would read the full book, but I might check it out from the library. The premise of national trauma with the pandemic and 2020 election as well as other events is promising, and I'll be interested to see what other people think. I'm not sure that the cover connects enough with the beginning of the story but maybe it has a deeper connection to events that go deeper into the human psyche later in the plot.
