First, the title is very eye-catching. It hooked me in first. Then, the cover art. It is very modern and sets up the story really well. The excerpt, though, was where I was truly pulled on board. There were a lot of references to things that I, certified nerd, already know about. Things that I have heard my own friends discuss. Then, there is the intriguing character of Karla. We learn fully well what other people think of her, but the excerpt really made me want to know so much more about her. Their interaction is not long in this section, but there is enough chemistry and mysteriousness from Karla that I am excited to read the rest of the book. There seems to be a dense amount of representation as well, which is always a good thing! It was heartwarming to see an asexual character as well. I have the feeling that there will be many loving friendships in this novel.
