I thought this was going to be a more typical high school romance story that is often found in YA contemporary books, but this book was so much more than that! It was a light and easy read, and while I will admit that the story overall wasn't particularly groundbreaking, I really enjoyed it and think many other readers will too.

I loved how geeky this book was! I myself am a fan of anime, so I felt that all the anime nerdiness displayed throughout this book was right up my alley (even if I haven't seen all of the shows that were referenced). I think many other nerds and geeks will enjoy it too, even if anime isn't their particularly cup of tea. They will still feel seen.

The main characters were easy to love and cheer for. I thought they were handled well.

I also loved the queer representation that was prominent (with the side characters), as well as the diversity in this book!
