I enjoyed how this book was honest to the teenager experience. The main character had incredible depth and development. I would have liked for the side characters to have the same depth to them, but oh well. I was happy to read a book from a perspective and author that needs to be more popular. As a high school English teacher, I am excited to have this book in my classroom for all my students to read. It captures the difficulty in navigating love during high school and the complex emotions and circumstances that affect romance. My only other critique is that this book has lots of F-words and sexual implications. I am having it in my classroom, but I had to put a language and sexual material warning on the book. I understand that the book is striving to accurately portray high school life, but I would still have appreciated less language and cleaner content material to make it accessible to all high school students (even those who are bothered by this sort of content).
