This is the kind of book that would make a cute YA show/movie. *GASP* I know that's not what a book worm should say but it doesn't make it wrong.
I enjoyed the queer rep and the geeking out parts. That absolutely spoke to me. This is the kind of book that I wish had been around when I was in junior high or high school. So while it's definitely not geared toward my age group, I can still appreciate it and be happy that it's around for my kids. I do always take that into consideration when reviewing a YA book because it isn't written for me so I try to put myself into the mindset of Would Teenager Debbie Like This?
I have to remember to talk about covers more. And this is the type of cover that, even if it isn't an automatic cover buy, it'll still make me gravitate straight towards it and pick it up to see what it is about. And at the end of the day that should be the goal of a book cover.
