I enjoyed reading this book and it is great for anyone who enjoys angsty high school coming-of-age. We follow Cameron, a very sweet boy, who lets his heart lead him in the wrong direction. He is head over heels for one of the most popular girls in school, Karla, who will only give him the time of day in secret. There is a lot of talk about anime from the G.A.N.U. club. There is also a lot about Jane Austen as Cameron joins the theatre nerds.

The story progresses to help blur the lines between social cliques, but they are a bit unrealistic in the beginning. The divide is a bit cliche since the different groups of kids don't really interact at the beginning of the story.

I also really like the character Mackenzie, who Cameron originally disliked. She joins G.A.N.U. after switching to the school. Throughout the story, Cameron begins falling for Mackenzie even as he is pursuing things with Karla.

The message of the book is good overall and it is a cute read. It may be relatable for some younger readers.
