This first look really pulled me in! First of all, I loved the sarcasm and focus on nerd culture, but it also got steamy super quickly and used actual curse words, which is a huge plus in my book. This definitely seems to be for an older YA audience as it's set in senior year, but it has some NA elements working in its favor, so far too. I really enjoyed the first look, and I can see this one appealing to a contemporary YA audience. The cover highly suggests that there's going to be a love triangle and if so, 2 separate enemies to lovers plot lines... I am absolutely here for that kind of drama. I love the sex positivity going on, and the fact that the protagonist's mom is a no nonsense parent that actually gave her kids a sex talk. It's really refreshing to have a YA protagonist have a good relationship with their mother and even ask permission to go to the party.
This book has a lot of potential, and it's standing out as a unique read to me, so far. I think the cover art is really well-done, and I'd absolutely love to read more to see how this love triage scenario/friendship dynamic drama unfolds.
