The Wrong Kind of Weird is refreshingly relatable in a sea of fantasy YA books. It gives me modern Breakfast Club vibes. Despite being told from the perspective of the “weird” kid, it portrays a confidence and sense of self that is engaging and empathetic. The writing is smart and propelling. I immediately thought of several teens I know who would probably enjoy reading it.
