This was such a fun little excerpt! I was a huge anime and manga fan in high school, and the author has their MC clearly interested in the good, old school stuff. I did not like reading that Pokemon Yellow was considered 'vintage', but it was still so cool to have so many references to the type of pop culture that I was into as a teen! Studio Ghibli, to DBZ, heck, the very first line was 100% my own personal anime opinion. I'm also always down for a good ol' messy secret hook-up storyline. I think this book is going to be great, can't wait to read the rest!
