The colorful cover for 'The Wrong Kind of Weird' matches the colorful action of the high school students at Hilltop High School. A couple of years ago these characters might have seemed fresh but in a way they are the new stereotypes: the "hot" traditional-looking girl (Karla Ortega) who is the class president ; D'Anthony is an allo-sexual geek who admits he can see why Karla is considered sexy; Mackenzie -a caustic-tongued, poorly groomed girl who belongs to the G.A.N.U. (Geeks and Nerds Union); Lucas is the twin brother of caustic-tongued Mackenzie and the officially recognized boyfriend of Karla; but then there is the unrecognized boyfriend, the first-person narrator guy who is one of two founding members of GANU, and he and Karla have been hooking up for many weeks. I predict the hidden love affair will be discovered and Mackenzie will move into the arms of the narrator.
