I can't tell if it's the writing, my own distance from high school, or both, but this felt very cringey. Playing into ridiculous tired high school tropes, having the narrator literally ask what his favorite anime character would do before deciding to go to a party with people he hates...I have absolutely zero interest in continuing to read this.
