Admittedly, I thought I was going to give up on this one. It starts off like a YA drama - two girls going camping in the woods to end their last summer together before college. It wasn’t bad, but truly not much happens in the first 100 or so pages.

But then… BAM! It goes full on crazy mode!! If you are a fan of movies like Wrong Turn, Deliverance, or The Hills Have Eyes, then THIS is the book for you.

Luckily, I am a BIG fan of those movies. And this book hit the mark in that respect.

What seems like a G-rated YA book turns super adult and super fast. It is gory, putrid, and just plain nasty. There is really no predicting some of the things that happen because it just comes out of nowhere. It’s suspenseful and full of imagery (both beautiful and disgusting).

I really enjoyed the writing style as well. I am going to need to check out some of her other writing!
