This book was a fast paced short thriller. I liked the friendship dynamic and how each girl is dealing with their own issues but want to spend one more weekend together before they are separated by college. I liked the setting of the Pisgah National Forest. I've been there so it made it more realistic. The girls did come off as rather dumb and made choices that were rather stupid. I didn't care for the snippets of backstop the author added into the story. I could have cared less about their friendship rings or their previous friendships. Sometimes the added details just seemed so out of place and irrelevant to the story. Once the danger started the story really moved along. I did like that consequences happened and neither escaped without any injuries but I do think their escape was highly dependant on adrenaline alone because damn they powered through those injuries that normally people would die from. The villains had to do a monologue which was annoying and of course the ending was predictable and so convenient. Then the story just ends with nothing resolved.
