As a hiker myself, I’ve often worried about hiking alone. I love how this story starts with the obvious inexperience of the two friends. You can tell they are excited and ready to prove something, but also nervous at the same time. The encounter with the other couple and the dead dear are likely a harbinger of what’s to come.
