THE WOMAN INSIDE
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just finished reading this thriller about a wealthy couple who are found murdered in their lavish home.

The story is a multi POV read that are all interconnected either by their troubled past or their futures about to collide. Bill is. A single father struggling to keep his daughter and himself afloat after his wife Miranda passed away. He has many vices and a tendency to burn through money the second he has it. While trying to save some money he rents a room to Karla; a law student who is likewise struggling to find work and finally takes a job as a housekeeper at the Rytter’s lavish home, after working there a few days she notices Regina, the wife of Steven Rytter seems to be ill and kept in her home almost against her will. Soon both Bill and Karla find themselves involved with the family that quickly turn into irreversible actions.
PROS: multiple POV’s make reading so much quicker and I thought it was well done and each character had unique tones and voices. Nice little twist at the end.

CONS: it was way too long and took quite a while to get to the meat of the story, it might also just be me but I read another book a few weeks ago that had the same woman-being-kept-in-her-house-seemingly-against-her-will-but-trusts-her-husband-blindly-even-though-she-knows-hes-a-bad-person and I was kind of frustrated with those characters because throughout the book they let the readers know they are aware of the husbands antics, have suspicions or proof and still just follow along.

Overall this book was in my top list this year and I’m glad I got to it, thank you to @bookishfirst and @celadonbooks for the #arc! OUT 6/13/23
