I really enjoyed this book! The pace of the book was perfect and kept me turning pages and wanting to read "just one more chapter." I thought that the character development was well done, and the characters were believable and flawed. I actually quite disliked two of them, and I believe that was intentional.

For example, on one hand, I wanted to support Bill for his daughter's sake, but on the other, I just couldn't believe some of the choices he was making. I fluctuated between feeling bad for him and trying to understand where he was coming from, and shaking my head and calling him names. Personally, I would have liked to have a bit more of his backstory to give a little more context to his financial issues and decisions.

Karla was my favorite character by far. Though she was flawed, in a very human way, she was truly trying to do the right thing throughout most of the book. I was rooting for her the whole way.

I loved the excerpts from various interrogations scattered throughout the book and the hints as to what was to come that they provided.

This is the second book by this author that I've read and it won't be the last!
