A wealthy heiress and her husband are found dead in their home in Lund, Sweden. The woman has died from a head injury, the husband from an apparent drug overdose. Fingerprints are found in their house from their cleaner, Karla, a woman going to school to become a judge, and Bill, a man how is down on his luck. After Bill was widowed, his bills overwhelmed him and Karla came to lodge with Bill and his daughter. But why are his fingerprints in the dead couple’s home? And then there’s Jennica, a woman who met the deceased man on Tinder (he was soooo different 😏).
Told from the perspectives of Bill, Karla, and Jennica, this novel begins and ends with this ‘family tragedy’ and how it came about. The audiobook was really well done with the different narrators bringing this to life. I enjoyed this, it could have been a bit shorter, and it’s more of a mystery than a thriller, but it was a good summer evening well spent.
