Recently widowed Bill Olsson is desperate to provide for his daughter, Sally. To help pay rent, he welcomes law student and aspiring judge Karla into their house. Karla works as a housekeeper for the Rytters when she's not at school to help make ends meet. The Rytters are an interesting couple. A wealthy family with a sick wife that hasn't left the house in months and a husband who comes across as controlling and obsessive. Is he just concerned for his wife's health? Or is there something else going on?

Karls is forced to make a hard choice when Bill's situation becomes more dire. But then the Rytters are found dead, and Karla is brought in for questioning, she is forced to defend parts of her past that she'd rather not talk about.

I thought it was a decent read but didn't think anything that jaw-dropping happened. Wasn't a huge fan of the way the ending went.
