3.75/5 stars! This is a translated story, which I didn't know going into it. The translator did an excellent job of translating in a way that doesn't read as "off" in any way. I love a good 'neighborhood murder' story, so I was really excited to read this story. In The Woman Inside, we are introduced to a cast of characters that all have some sort of motive. Like any good murder mystery, there are twists upon twists in this book. Was it the nanny? The relative? Someone else in the neighborhood? Who's to know...

The cops in this book fit every stereotype we have of law enforcement, which I actually didn't mind. An overly-eager and bumbling workforce can add a sliver of levity in an otherwise dark and moody tale. I was shocked by the final reveal, but felt the pacing was off at times. It would ramp up for a few chapters and then leave this stale limbo for the following few chapters. That bothered me, but otherwise was a strong story.
