The Woman Inside is a psychological thriller that entwines the lives of three very different characters. Karla, a determined law student with dreams of becoming a judge, rents a room from Bill Olsson, a widower struggling to make ends meet for himself and his young daughter. Bill takes in Karla as a lodger to help cover the bills. Alongside her studies, Karla works as a housekeeper for the wealthy Rytter couple.
One day, tragedy strikes when the Rytters are found dead in their lavish home. The police launch an investigation and start questioning everyone connected to the couple, including Karla. As the story unfolds, the pieces of the puzzle slowly come together, revealing the truth behind the Rytters' untimely demise.
Throughout the book, readers get glimpses of the characters' pasts, adding depth and intrigue to the unfolding mystery. The author keeps readers guessing and manages to avoid predictable outcomes. That said, I found the ending a bit disappointing. But at least it tied up loose ends and provided a resolution to the intricate web of secrets and lies woven throughout the story.
