You know what, based on the first impression, I found myself enjoying this excerpt. The beginning grabs your attention and I like the style that it's written. I will say, this book is not my cup of tea, but I can see people enjoying it. It's an intriguing premise with relatable characters. I'm not, however, the biggest fan of the cover. It feels too generic for me. The book cover doesn't grab your attention or stick out, or is a memorable one either, but it does match the genre and style of the story.
